The Problem
A manufacturer of oil drilling equipment was looking for a sensor to control the direction of his drill head. The main design constraints were small space and the ability to withstand high temperatures and high pressures.
The Solution
A Rotasyn Resolver with external rotor and a large bore (100mm) is integrated in a drilling head. The Rotasyn provides an accurate Information of the orientation of the drilling head in presence of high temperature, very high oil and water pressure.
